Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan addressed the media today.

Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan said a heinous conspiracy was hatched to destroy the political career of Shri Rahul Gandhi. The plot is based on lies proliferated in the public domain and on the Internet since 2006. The Congress party welcomes yesterday’s decision of the Hon’ble High Court of Allahabad (Lucknow Bench) which dismisses these lies as “wild allegations/insinuation”. In addition, the Hon’ble Court has directed the CBI to register cases against “all persons who are found involved in the plot hatched in order to frame up Shri Rahul Gandhi”. The Congress party demands that the CBI identify the original culprits responsible for hatching this plot and that all those persons and institutions responsible for this conspiracy be punished.

To a question on the issue about DMK-Congress alliance talks and the ensuing events, Smt. Natarajan said as soon as we have any statement to make regarding the talks between DMK and the Congress, we will definitely share with you.
