Resolution - II
This meeting of
the CWC places
on record its
profound sense
of appreciation
for the
outstanding role
played by the
Congress
President, Smt.
Sonia Gandhi in
the recent
election
campaign. She
led the Congress
Party with
determination,
discipline and
drive to a
resounding
victory. She
articulated and
communicated our
party's key
campaign
messages and
themes
indefatigably.
Her continuing
concern for the
welfare of the
weaker sections
of society
particularly has
helped the
Congress
immeasurably.
The CWC also
places on record
its deep
gratitude to the
Prime Minister,
Dr. Manmohan
Singh for the
dignified but
firmly effective
manner with
which he
confronted our
political
opponents who
sought to
belittle the
achievements of
the Congress -
led UPA
Government. He
always spoke
with steely
resolve. Sh.
Rahul Gandhi
was, in many
respects, the
lead campaigner
and addressed
over a hundred
rallies over a
space of around
twenty two days.
His energy,
exuberance and
enthusiasm sent
a new message of
hope to the
people of our
country,
especially
youth. He has
embarked on a
historic task of
party-building
from the grass
roots and is
also showing the
way to a whole
new politics
itself.
The success of
the Congress
Party in 2009
Lok Sabha
elections has
been due, in a
very large
measure, to the
relentless
effort put in by
Smt. Sonia
Gandhi, Dr.
Manmohan Singh
and Sh. Rahul
Gandhi. They
have been a
source of great
motivation and
inspiration to
all Congress men
and women. The
CWC is deeply
conscious,
appreciative and
acknowledges the
valuable
contribution of
these leaders in
the success of
the Party.
