Has been always taking part in such activities since student life. Took part in relief works for the victims of Bangladesh Tragedy in 1971-72. Taking part in providing relief and rehabilitation to the victims of communal riot in Tripura since 1980 and also to the victims of Political disturbances.

Cabinet Minister of Tripura from 1988 to 1993.
